Beneath the Sun’s Warm, Golden Ray

a field of poppies under an open sky

In Rocklin's land of marsh and hay,

Amid open fields where poppies sway,

A tale of guilt and love does play,

Beneath the sun's warm, golden ray.

Pasture lands and ranches spread,

As wildflowers bloom, a sea of red,

Yet, in this tale, a heart feels dread,

A journey of emotions, widely spread.

Four plazas, each on cardinal lines,

Pizza, nails, massage, fitness shines,

Starbucks corners, the grand design,

In this world of choices, we incline.

Is it easy to move on, let go of the past,

To shed the guilt, emotions vast,

Sharing love anew, a die is cast,

A journey of forgiveness, at last.

Why guilt, remorse, in this heart reside,

For love once wedded, now set aside,

Seeking forgiveness, from God, our guide,

A path to serenity, side by side.

Release the guilt, let it float away,

No responsibility for another's dismay,

Love's path we walk, come what may,

In the present moment, we choose to stay.

The ex-wife's drama, not your own,

Her words and wounds, let them be overthrown,

In love's embrace, you both have grown,

A new beginning, a love to be known.

Replace the lies with thoughts so bright,

Embrace growth, and take flight,

Maturity, wisdom, in love's sweet light,

Living life fully, day and night.
